With Guest: Sargent Collincho is a Ugandan traditional artist and tube fiddle player from the Bunyoro region, whose work is rooted in the preservation and revival of Runyoro musical heritage. Specializing in the tube fiddle (endingidi)—a traditional one-stringed instrument—Collincho uses rhythm, tone, and storytelling to honor the ancestral wisdom and spiritual depth of the Banyoro people.
Raised in a community where music was deeply tied to ceremonies, folklore, and communal life, Sargent developed a passion for traditional instruments early on. His performances blend ritualistic rhythms, oral traditions, and original compositions that reflect on the past while speaking to the present. Through the tube fiddle, he channels the voices of elders and the rhythm of the land, using music as a form of cultural remembrance, resistance, and healing.
